Ángel Marote
Angel Enrique Sánchez Marote started his music training at age 7 at the music conservatory of La Coruña (Spain), graduating at age 21 with the diploma Profesor de Grado Superior de Música, obtaining the highest grades.
He decided to move abroad to pursue further studies, obtaining the “Bachelor of Music” with honorable mention at the Utrecht Conservatory in the Netherlands, under tutelage of Professor Chris Duindam. In 2009 he finished his “Master in Solo Performance” with the Professors Elisabeth Perry and Kees Hülsmann, among others. Simultaneously to his Master’s studies, he received viola lessons by Professor Richard Wolfe and baroque violin instruction by Professor Antoinette Lohmann. He participated at numerous masterclasses with distinguished teachers, such as Boris Kuniev, Felix Andrievsky, Raphael Oleg, Miguel Borrego, Natalia Gabunia, and Frans Van de Putte, among others. During almost ten years of his residence in the Netherlands, he performed in some of the country’s most prestigious concert venues: Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, De Doelen in Rotterdam, Muziekgebouw Frits Philips in Eindhoven, Vredenburg in Utrecht, etc., with various chamber groups and orchestras, such as Het Gelders Orkest, Magogo Kamerorkest, Het Promenade Orkest, Sinfonia Rotterdam, Rotterdam Ensemble, Dorts Kamerorkest... He is presently member of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia in La Coruña, playing there since 2012, as well as collaborating with their chamber orchestra and the Camerata Boccherini. In Spain, he has played with Orquesta de Castilla y León, Oviedo Filarmonía, and Real Filharmonía de Galicia, among others. Since 2015 he is violinist of the Schubert String Quartet. |
